I get asked often what’s with this weird thing people can’t seem to pronounce called “Diatomaceous Earth” and is it really that useful in gut healing?
Here’s my quick answer….
So Diatomaceous Earth is quickly becoming popular amongst health enthusiasts and is known for an impressive list of health benefits without any toxic side effects! Make sure though that you only use pure, food grade Diatomaceous Earth which you can safely use every day depending on the need to which you are using it.
It is pretty much just a trace mineral containing a high level of soluble silica which has been mined directly from high altitude, ancient freshwater lakes and simply sun-dried and milled. It is a mineral required by many organs and functions in the body including the tendons, blood vessels, heart, liver, lungs, skin, teeth, cartilage and bones…..you could say it’s pretty useful then huh!!
Body Detoxification and parasite cleanses – it can be safely ingested (about 1 tsp per day with water) and when taken regularly can help with the detoxification process of the body and aid in ridding the intestines of unwanted parasites. Also, the negative charge of Diatomaceous Earth attracts positively charged ions or those that come from heavy metals ingested daily. As Diatomaceous Earth attracts positively charged ions, the two are then released through the usual routes so its a great tool for stripping heavy metals out of the body.
Skin Care – the silica in Diatomaceous Earth clears pores by sweeping the dirt that might be clogging them, allowing your skin to breathe better. The abrasive quality of Diatomaceous Earth makes it an excellent scrub and exfoliant for the skin. Despite being abrasive, however, the silica particles are small enough that they do not really cause irritation or trigger allergies on the skin so it’s heaps better than synthetic products brought from stores.
